I wish this was fake but it is is not. Pictured below is a satellite view of an incoming typhoon in the Philippines, and it is almost as big as the country itself.

    2. I was in Guian on the ground working with the UN after typhoon Haiyan in 2013, I cannot say enough good things about the spirit and resilience of the Filipino people, they were amazing. All over town they had hung up signs saying “thank you for helping Philippines” or “thank you international community!” They had nothing, their homes were destroyed, and they still invited me in to share rice with them on Christmas Day. I will be forever grateful and supportive toward the Filipino people for everything they taught me and I’m so glad I could help out even if in some small way. Bangon Philippines! I truly hope this typhoon does not affect them in any sort of similar way.

    3. The majority of my team is based in the Philippines. I really worry about them and hope they’re okay. They work damn hard.

    4. Which typhoon is this? The one coming in a few hours or the one that happened 3 days ago?

Is typhoon season in the pacific different from hurricane season in the Atlantic or is this typhoon coming after they typically stop occurring?
